From Shrewsbury

Take the southern By-pass A5 around Shrewsbury until you come to the turn off for Bishops Castle A488. (20 miles or so). Stay on the A488 and skirt Bishops Castle, on the right hand side heading in the direction of  Clun. After 1 mile you come into the village of  Colebatch, at the cross roads you will see a right hand turn for Cefn Einion, signposted 2 miles. Follow this road taking care as it is very narrow for the first ¾ mile until it opens out a little as it starts to go uphill (1:6) through the forest. Continue up and over the hill and at the bottom of the decent you will arrive at Cefn Einion. Ignore the right turn sign posted Mainstone, Spring Cottage will be found 50 yards past this turn on the left hand side.

  From Ludlow

Take the A49 heading north towards Shrewsbury, at Craven Arms take the left turn towards Clun. (B4368). Continue through Aston on Clun and after about 1 mile take the right turn towards Bishops Castle (B4385). Continue through Lydbury North and passing the village of Brockton on your left the road bends to the right. After ¼ mile take the left turn sign posted Colebatch ½ mile and Cefn Einion 2 ½ mile. Take care when you reach the cross road with the A488, go straight over sign posted Cefn Einion 2 miles. Follow this road taking care as it is very narrow for the first ¾ mile until it opens out a little as it starts to go uphill (1:6) through the forest. Continue up and over the hill and at the bottom of the decent you will arrive at Cefn Einion. Ignore the right turn sign posted Mainstone, Spring Cottage will be found 50 yards past this turn on the left hand side.

Quickest route (but slightly longer) is M6. M54. A5. to Shrewsbury but avoid peak times around B’ham (3.00-7.00pm) Shorter routes M6. M42. south of B’ham then either north on M5 and off at J4 and through Kidderminster, or south on M5 and off at J5 and through Droitwitch towards Ombersley and Tenbury Wells. Both shorter routes will bring you out at Ludlow. Another route avoiding motorways is A46 to Stratford, A422 to Worcester, A44 to Leominster, A49 to Ludlow.      “Best of luck !”
